About Me

Hello, there!

My name is Satoi Adams, and I specialize in Mizuhiki creation along with color coordination.

After working as a journalist in the broadcasting industry, I spent my time reporting on radio, writing essays, working as an MC, and as a speech instructor abroad/in Japan while being a mom of two from an international marriage. These experiences have shaped me to become a verbal communicator; at the same time, it has always been my ambition to apply visual expression through art and craft.

I was immediately drawn to Mizuhiki, a traditional Japanese craft that I believe captures one’s state of mind by incorporating a variety of colors and shapes. In 2018, I began holding Mizuhiki workshops in the United States as a way to share Japanese culture, and it is absolutely delightful to hear others agree that Mizuhiki is soothing and therapeutic. With COVID-19 slowly declining, I’m resuming Mizuhiki workshops in Japan to continue spreading the joy and charm of Mizuhiki.

Mizuhiki comes in a variety of colors and materials. The best part of it is that the design is entirely up to you and your creativity! I hope my workshop will be a place where you can enjoy expressing your personality, as well as a place where you can reflect on your inner self.

To those of you who are always busy with your work or your family or both – I encourage you to find some spare time and come to one of my workshops to take a deep breath and refresh your mind through the art of Mizuhiki. I’m looking forward to meeting you! 😊
